Dr. Troy Scroggins is a radiation oncologist at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. He completed his undergraduate work in biology at the University of Kansas and earned his medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed his internship at the University of Tennessee and his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Scroggins is currently the System Chair of Radiation Oncology. His areas of expertise include prostate cancer, breast cancer and cancers of the head and neck area. He is actively engaged in cancer research and serves as principal investigator for several prostate cancer trials. He has also focused efforts to increase early detection and treatment of cancer in under-served and minority populations in the New Orleans area and previously served as principal investigator for a National Cancer Institute grant to improve cancer screening and treatment among minority groups. He routinely volunteers time to educate the public on cancer awareness and other health issues.
