The orthopedics team at Ochsner Health Center – Belle Meade is home base to Lindsey Liuzza, MD, one of the few board-certified orthopedists in the area who is fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Liuzza, a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), the Louisiana Orthopedics Association (LOA) and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery (AAOS), also treats fractures and injuries and conditions affecting the hand, wrist, foot and ankles. Moreover, twice a week, patients in need of Sports Medicine specialist can visit David Leslie, DO at this location for concussions, sprains and tears, as well as preventive care.

Ochsner West Bank also offers Mako Partial and Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement, enabled by a surgeon-controlled robotic arm system. With Mako, Ochsner surgeons can place the artificial joint in the optimal position with greater accuracy. The right positioning ensures better function and joint longevity. These procedures enable patients to have faster healing and less pain.
