Biography

Dr. Andrew McKernan is an allergist and immunologist practicing in Slidell, Louisiana and Covington, Louisiana. Dr. McKernan received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska in 2017. He went on to complete his internship and residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then completed his fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at Tulane University in New Orleans.Dr. McKernan is board-certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2022 and practicing medicine since 2017. Dr. McKernan performs allergy testing for seasonal allergies, foods and medications and administers allergy shots. He has a special clinical interest in asthma, food allergies and seasonal allergies. In his free time, Dr. McKernan enjoys travelling with his wife and attending sporting events.
