Biography
Dr. Godshaw's specific clinical interests revolve around knee preservation, particularly cartilage restoration, limb alignment and osteotomies, and ligament and meniscal preservation and reconstruction. He performs advanced arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures and has expertise in caring for athletes at all levels, including professional, collegiate and high school teams.
He is board certified in both orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine. Dr. Godshaw completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Ochsner Medical Center and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he gained experience with teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Godshaw is committed to education and research. He serves as assistant program director for the Ochsner Orthopedic Surgery Residency and as a senior lecturer with the University of Queensland Ochsner Clinical School. He is also the director of orthopedic research at Ochsner, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and national presentations focused on advancing patient outcomes in sports medicine.
Dr. Godshaw serves as a team physician for the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, reflecting his dedication to high-performance care and injury prevention at the highest level of athletics.
Originally from Vienna, Virginia, Dr. Godshaw values time with his wife, son and daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and living the healthy lifestyle he encourages for his patients.
