Dr. David Elizardi is a native of New Orleans who attended undergraduate college at Emory University. He returned to New Orleans where he earned his medical degree from Tulane University. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago. He completed a cardiology fellowship at the Ochsner Clinic followed by research fellowships in echocardiography at the University of California-San Francisco and the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. Elizardi has been board certified in cardiovascular diseases since 1979. He was on the staff of the Ochsner Clinic from 1978-1988, after which he practiced private cardiology in Uptown New Orleans. Following Hurricane Katrina, he moved his practice from Memorial/Baptist Hospital to the West Bank and rejoined Ochsner in late 2006. He is in the section of consultative cardiology. Dr. Elizardi practices exclusively at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans as part of the cardiology hospitalist team.
