Dr. David Leslie joins the Ochsner team as a primary care, sports medicine trained physician. Dr. Leslie will serve as primary care team physician for several local colleges and high schools in the New Orleans metro area. Dr. Leslie will also be a key addition to Ochsner Sports Medicine’s Concussion Management Program.

Dr. Leslie is an active member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine and the American College of Osteopathic Family
Physicians. He is currently a board certified family medicine physician. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine/Virginia Tech, where he served as an associate team physician for Virginia Tech and Radford University athletics.

Dr. Leslie has specific interests in sports medicine through both clinical and teaching avenues. He has been clinical faculty at both Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and enjoys teaching in both the clinic and classroom setting.

In addition to covering athletic events at high school, collegiate, and professional levels, Dr. Leslie is also a USA Boxing certified physician. He has experience and interest in all combat sports such as wrestling, mixed martial arts, and boxing.

He is originally from the Detroit metro area in Michigan and is married to his wife, Lauren.
