Dennis Sonnier, MD, specializes in kidney, liver and pancreas transplant surgery at Ochsner Health. He received his medical degree in 2007 from Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Medicine in New Orleans. He went on to complete his internship and residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio. He completed his fellowship in abdominal transplant surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Sonnier is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2016 and practicing medicine since 2007. Dr. Sonnier performs liver transplants, kidney transplants and pancreas transplants. He has a special clinical interest in surgical education and is the director of the surgical clerkship for University of Queensland / Ochsner Clinical School medical students.
