Biography

Dr. Ehtesham Khalid, MD, FRCPE, FCPS, is a neurologist at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana, who specializes in neuromuscular medicine and autonomic disorders. He offers advanced care for conditions such as myasthenia gravis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, ALS, myopathies, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, orthostatic hypotension, and other autonomic disorders, as well as genetic neuromuscular diseases in adults. Dr. Khalid’s expertise includes nerve conduction studies, electromyography (including single-fiber EMG), Botox therapy, autonomic function testing, and occipital nerve blocks, ensuring comprehensive and personalized treatment for his patients.

Dr. Khalid earned his medical degree in medicine and surgery from Nishtar Medical University in Multan, Pakistan, in 2004. He holds multiple certifications, including board certification in neurology and psychiatry (United States, 2017), internal medicine (United Kingdom, 2011), and neurology (Pakistan, 2012). He completed a neuromuscular fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2018, and is also certified in healthcare quality assurance and utilization review for physicians.

An active member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Dr. Khalid remains committed to professional development and staying at the forefront of medical advancements.

Since joining Ochsner Health in 2023, Dr. Khalid has been dedicated to providing individualized, patient-centered care that combines medical expertise with a deep understanding of each patient’s unique needs and goals. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cycling, watching movies with his family and spending time outdoors.
