Biography

Erin Biro, MD is a neurosurgeon with Ochsner Health who treats patients in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a valued member of the nationally ranked Department of Neurosurgery at Ochsner Health, she is the first female adult neurosurgery attending physician within Ochsner as well as the New Orleans area. Dr. Biro specializes in neurosurgery, spinal surgery, spinal cord injury medicine with expertise in highly sought treatments such as minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal decompression and fusion, herniated disc and sciatica care. Her clinical focus also includes advanced microsurgical, endoscopic and minimally invasive approaches to brain tumors, skull base conditions, traumatic brain injury and complex spinal disorders, helping patients achieve improved outcomes with less invasive techniques.

A native of New York, Dr. Biro earned her medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University and completed her neurosurgical residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
