Gabrielle Black, PA-C, specializes in urgent care medicine at Ochsner Health. She is a proud alumnus of Kaplan High School in Kaplan, Louisiana, graduating in 2004. Her background includes a degree in medical laboratory science, which she earned from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2009. She is board-certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a medical laboratory scientist and hematology specialist. After graduation, she worked for Ochsner Lafayette General's main campus laboratory, where she gained experience as a generalist. She is also a former medical laboratory science instructor at South Louisiana Community College in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she applied her passions for science and education.

She earned her Master of Medical Science (MMSc) degree from Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, in 2025 and is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) as a physician assistant. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) to stay updated on evidence-based medicine and medical advancements.

Gabrielle has been with Ochsner since 2010; however, she transitioned to practicing medicine in 2025. She is dedicated to delivering personalized healthcare and building connections with her patients. As a lifelong resident of Acadiana, she looks forward to serving her community and watching it continue to grow. Outside of medicine, she enjoys reading, crocheting and baking. She looks forward to serving you and the patients of Ochsner Health.
