Biography
Dr. Gomes is board-certified by American Board of Medical Specialties in internal medicine and the subspecialty of pulmonary disease. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 1993 and practicing medicine since 1980. He is the former chief of medicine and director of the sleep lab at the Ochsner Medical Center - Baton Rouge. Dr. Gomes has an interest in occupational lung disease and is a certified NIOSH B reader of chest radiographs. He performs cardiopulmonary exercise testing, bronchoscopy and thoracentesis. He continues to have a special clinical interest in pneumoconiosis (dust diseases of the lung) and sleep disorders. Dr. Gomes enjoys watching LSU baseball in his free time.

Dr Gomes showed his utmost professionalism concerning my issue. He was extremely thorough informing me of the results of the tests I had taken earlier that morning. He explained the course of treatment for me and ordered additional testing along with a follow up visit with him.

Excellent in all aspects. Dr Gomez is very knowledgeable about all aspects of sleep apnea as well as treatment options snd programming aspects of machine, which he prescribed an adjustmment and then immediately had machine reprogrammed. So when I left the office everything had been handled!!!
