Biography

Dr. Granville Morse graduated from Louisiana State University and also graduated medical school from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Dr. Morse completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Charity Hospital and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. He served as chief resident and was awarded the Albert J. Lauro award for Outstanding Resident in Emergency Medicine. The Ochsner Clinic Foundation also recognized Dr. Morse with the Outstanding Performance in Emergency Medicine Award. Following his residency, Dr. Morse worked as an Emergency Medicine physician at East Jefferson General Hospital, Lakeview Regional Medical Center and Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, and now currently works at Ochsner Health. In 2012, in partnership with MHM, he opened Lakeview Urgent Care where he was the also the Medical Director. In 2017, MHM merged with Ochsner, and after serving as System Chair for Urgent Care for five years, he now serves as the Medical Director of the Hospital Service Lines for Ochsner Health. Also, since 2012, he has served as Deputy Coroner of Jefferson Parish. In 2014, he began as team physician for Christian Brothers' football team, and Associate Team Physician for Jesuit High School's football team. His interest in medicine started after he spent the better part of a year in and out of casts for an uncommon femur fracture. He was inspired by the care he received and hoped that one day he could do for others what those physicians did for him. As a physician, it is important to listen to your patients and try to get to know them, as that will usually help you regarding their expectations and your goals of treatment. At the end of every visit, Dr. Morse will go over the decision making and reasons for the diagnosis and plan(s)/medication(s). He likes to involve his patients in any discussions about their plan(s) and encourage them to ask any questions pertaining to it. This adds another layer of comfort to the patient, and usually results in a more efficient and satisfactory visit.
