Harley G. Ginsberg, MD, practices neonatology at Ochsner Health. A Manhattan, New York native, Dr. Ginsberg graduated cum laude in biology from Tulane University. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his pediatric internship, residency and neonatal fellowship at the Charity Hospital program affiliated with Tulane University in New Orleans. Dr. Ginsberg is board certified in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1987. He served as both the Section Head of neonatal medicine at Ochsner and the Medical Director of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center from 1989 until 2021. Dr. Ginsberg managed the team at Ochsner that took care of babies during Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Ginsberg is the Founder and Medical Director of Mothers’ Milk Bank of Louisiana at Ochsner Baptist and is a member of the Standards Committee for the Human Milk Banking Association of North America. He has written chapters for medical textbooks on neonatology and has published scientific medical in articles in the New England Journal of Medicine, Pediatrics, Journal of Perinatology and Clinics in Perinatology. Dr. Ginsberg’s professional interests include the use of donor human milk in the prevention of neonatal intestinal disease as well as its role in infection prevention. In his free time, he enjoys photography and distance running.
