Harold McGrade, MD, practices neurocritical care medicine at Ochsner Health. Dr. Harold McGrade spent 10 years practicing at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, before coming to Ochsner. Dr. McGrade established a stroke and IV TPA protocol, stroke unit with specialized nursing training, multi-disciplinary rounds and the creation of a Code S hospital team. He later worked in conjunction with the Cardiology team to develop a Therapeutic Hypothermia Protocol.During Dr. McGrade's tenure as Stroke Director at University Hospital they were awarded the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Certification as a Primary Stoke Center.
