Biography
Jason "Jay" Miller, MD, practices pulmonary and critical care medicine at Ochsner Health. A lung disease specialist, Dr. Miller is an expert at procedures (including bronchoscopy) and knowledgeable in all things pulmonary (COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, chronic cough, pulmonary nodules, lung cancer, obstructive sleep apnea, smoking cessation, pulmonary rehabilitation, etc.).
Dr. Miller earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana – his hometown – in 2008. He completed his Pulmonary & Critical Care fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has trained at various Ochsner facilities since 2016 but came back to practice at Ochsner in 2024. Dr. Miller is an active member of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians, which allows him to stay updated on the latest medical advancements particular to his field.
Outside of the hospital, you're likely to find Dr. Miller at his local nursery or hardware store gearing up for work around the house. Odds are that his sidekick (daughter born in 2020) will be with him because they're inseparable. He's also an avid history enthusiast and routinely makes his wife listen to his lectures about the latest fascinating historical anecdote he just learned – she's a saint. Dr. Miller also loves to travel and has been known to visit Rome any chance he gets.
Dr. Miller believes strongly in the doctor-patient connection, and he puts this into practice every day. You won't find him facing a computer screen during your visit or typing while you're talking. He's dedicated to listening to what you have to say so the two of you can decide on the right plan – as a team.
