A board-certified otolaryngologist and fellowship-trained laryngologist, Dr. Jeff Marino specializes in the management of voice, airway and swallowing disorders at Ochsner Health. A New Orleans native, he completed medical school at Louisiana State University, followed by an otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at the University of Connecticut. He went on to complete a fellowship in laryngology at the Emory Voice Center before returning home to begin practicing at Ochsner in 2015. At the Ochsner Voice Center, he works closely with specialized speech-language pathologists to provide optimal care for patients with a wide variety of conditions affecting the larynx and upper aerodigestive tract. As a member of the Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Marino plays a key role in the evaluation and management of early stage laryngeal cancer. Dr. Marinos expertise includes endoscopic surgery for benign and malignant laryngeal disease, laryngeal framework surgery, medialization laryngoplasty, diagnostic laryngeal electromyography, laryngeal botulinum toxin injection, treatment of airway stenosis and repair of Zenker's diverticulum. A particular interest of his is the expanding range of laryngeal procedures which are performed in the office without the need for general anesthesia, including laryngeal laser treatment, vocal fold injections and transnasal esophagoscopy. Dr. Marino treats hoarseness, dysphonia, voice disorders, vocal fold nodules, vocal fold cyst, vocal fold polyp, vocal fold hemorrhage, vocal fold paralysis, care of the professional voice, care of the aging voice, laryngeal dystonia, spasmodic dysphonia, vocal tremor, laryngeal cancer, laryngeal leukoplakia, laryngeal dysplasia, respiratory papillomatosis, tracheal stenosis, subglottic stenosis, glottic stenosis, dysphagia, cricopharyngeal dysfunction and Zenker's diverticulum.
