Biography
Jeffrey Sibrack, MD, is a psychiatrist at the Ochsner Lafayette General Community Health Center. He has expertise in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, and he has experience treating a range of mental health conditions. While his primary clinical work is in the general outpatient settings, for over a decade he has also maintained clinical roles in acute inpatient psychiatry, addiction medicine, consultation, primary care collaboration, Veteran mental health, clinical leadership and education.Dr. Sibrack completed medical school at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2013. He completed combined training in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry through Tulane University in 2018. He is board-certified in each specialty. He has completed further training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Prior to joining Ochsner, Dr. Sibrack worked with the New Orleans and Alexandria VA Healthcare systems, providing clinical care and administrative leadership. He supervises and teaches residents and holds multiple adjunct faculty appointments. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association, American Psychoanalytic Association and the New-Orleans Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center.Working in diverse clinical settings, Dr. Sibrack integrates contemporary biological psychiatry with an approach rooted in psychoanalytic thinking. He collaborates with patients to explore personal challenges, symptoms, and disease in the context of individual development, their relationships and their social milieu.
