Jennifer Perone, MD, is a surgical oncologist at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Perone earned her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. She completed an internship and residency in general surgery at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

During her time in Texas, she completed a three year research fellowship studying the immunologic effects of targeted therapies for melanoma and obtained a master's degree in clinical sciences with her surgical education research. 

Dr. Perone completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the Moffit Cancer Center/University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Her clinical interests include skin and soft tissue malignancies and gastrointestinal, hepatopancreaticobiliary, and neuroendocrine malignancies, as well as the role of palliative care in surgical oncology. 

She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. She is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), the Society of Surgical Palliative Care, the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS), and the Catholic Medical Association (CMA).
