Dr. Jennifer Wellington specializes in general surgery at Ochsner Health. She earned her undergraduate degree from Belmont University in Tennessee and her medical degree from the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University in 2014. She subsequently completed her general surgery residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. She joined the Ochsner faculty in 2025 after 22 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Army. Dr. Wellingtons areas of expertise include general and gastrointestinal surgery, hernia surgery and breast cancer surgery. She is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is trained in both laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
