Dr. John Loomis specializes in urology at Ochsner Health in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is board-certified by the American Board of Urology and completed his residency in 2020. He has been on staff at Ochsner since September 2020. A native Texan, Dr. Loomis received his medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 2015. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Colorado in Denver and residency in Urology at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Loomis specializes in all aspects of urologic surgery, but has special interest in kidney stones, kidney cancer, BPH, and prostate cancer. He has experience and training in minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques including robotic surgery using the Da Vinci system. When not taking care of patients, Dr. Loomis enjoys spending time with his two children, his significant other, and traveling.
