Biography
Justin Mercer received a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2015. Prior to joining Ochsner, Justin studied Emergency Medicine, Obsteterics and Gynocology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Acute Care Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Family Medicine. He obtained additional certifications in Advanced Wilderness Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He routinely precepts PA students undergoing their Emergency Medicine rotation with local universities. He is board certified by the NCCPA and has been on staff at Ochsner since 2015. Professional affiliations include Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants.
