Karen Chavez-Jones is a Family Nurse Practitioner providing Primary Care for the Jefferson Parish and surrounding areas. She received her undergraduate degrees from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans and University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She earned her master's degree with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner studies from Loyola University New Orleans. Karen has been employed with Ochsner since 2011, and her experience ranges from adult and geriatric care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit to pediatric care on a Neonatal Intensive Care unit. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and she is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is a member of the Ochsner APP Diversity and Inclusion Council. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
