Dr. Kirk Langheinz is a diagnostic radiologist who specializes in breast imaging at Ochsner Lafayette General Breast Center, a breast center of excellence offering complete breast healthcare with imaging and surgical services under one roof. Dr. Langheinz's sub-specialty breast imaging expertise includes 2D and 3D digital mammogram interpretation, breast ultrasound performance and interpretation, breast MRI interpretation and radiologic-pathologic concordance analysis for breast lesions. Dr. Langheinz's sub-specialty breast intervention expertise includes image guided biopsy procedures including MRI/tomosynthesis/stereotactic/ultrasound guided breast core needle biopsy, ultrasound guided axillary lymph node core needle biopsy and image guided MagSeed/wire localization of breast and axillary lesions. With this skill set, Dr. Langheinz offers comprehensive breast imaging and intervention for all breast concerns and conditions, from routine screening mammograms, to assessment of specific breast areas of concern (lump, pain, nipple discharge, skin changes, etc), to diagnosis and staging of breast cancer. Dr. Langheinz earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2012. He completed a one-year internal medicine internship, four-year diagnostic radiology residency, and one-year breast imaging fellowship at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans between 2012-2018, followed by earning board certification from the American Board of Radiology in 2018. He actively participates in the Society of Breast Imaging to stay updated on advancements in the field of breast imaging. Dr. Langheinz is dedicated to addressing the needs of his patients while understanding their individual concerns and goals. He has been practicing breast imaging in Lafayette, Louisiana, since 2018. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife while they share the journey of raising their five children.
