Marie Barker, FNP-cC, is a nurse practitioner with Ochsner Health's Hereditary and High Risk Clinic. She provides patient-centered care focused on cancer risk assessment, preventive care, and coordination of services for individuals and families with hereditary or familial cancer risk concerns.

In collaboration with oncologists, surgeons and other specialists, Marie provides multidisciplinary evaluation, care coordination and follow-up planning. She facilitates communication across the care team and helps connect patients with appropriate resources related to cancer prevention and early detection.

Marie earned her Master of Science in nursing and Bachelor of Science in nursing from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of work, Marie enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, traveling together as a family, and keeping up with their two doodles. She also enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and making memories with friends and family.
