Melissa Figueredo Taravella, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner with a distinguished career at Ochsner Health. Driven by a passion for healthcare and a desire to make a difference in patients' lives, she pursued a career in nursing. Melissa earned her bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in 2008, laying the groundwork for her future in healthcare. She furthered her education at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, where she completed her master of science in nursing (MSN) in 2023, specializing as a family nurse practitioner. Melissa began her tenure at Ochsner Health in June 2008 as an emergency room nurse at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans. In April 2024, Melissa transitioned from her role as an emergency room nurse to join the primary care team as a family nurse practitioner. As an FNP-C, she focuses on delivering patient-centered care, managing chronic conditions, and promoting preventive health practices. Her extensive experience in emergency care has provided her with a unique perspective and skill set that she now applies to her role in primary care.
