Rachel L. Hyde, FNP-C, MPH, practices family medicine at Ochsner Health. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rachel began her career by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2012. She has worked as an emergency room travel nurse and disaster relief nurse across four states and five countries. She remains passionate about travel medicine and is an active member of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM).

In 2018, she earned a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Edinburgh while living in Scotland. Following her graduation, she spent five years at the Louisiana Department of Health, working in mortality surveillance and infectious disease epidemiology. Feeling called back to the bedside, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2024. Rachel is deeply committed to patient-centered, preventive care. She employs a holistic approach to healthcare, addressing barriers and empowering patients to make informed decisions that lead to healthier lives. Outside of her professional life, Rachel enjoys biking, gardening and backpacking with her husband.
