Ryan Farmer, MD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Ochsner Children’s and sees patients in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana. He specializes in treating musculoskeletal conditions including scoliosis and other spine deformities, limb length discrepancy, limb deformity, foot and ankle disorders, fractures and various neuromuscular conditions including spina bifida and cerebral palsy. Dr. Farmer uses the most up-to-date technologies in his practice including robotic-assisted surgeries to treat spinal deformities, magnetically controlled growing rods, vertebral body tethering and quantitative gait analysis to help develop treatment plans.

Dr. Farmer earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado, and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, the Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society, Louisiana State Medical Society and Louisiana Orthopedic Association.

When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Farmer enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on his kids during various sporting events.
