Sanjin Tunovic, MD, specializes in interventional cardiology at Ochsner Health. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, where he majored in economics. He obtained his medical degree at Tulane School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society. He stayed at Tulane for his internal medicine residency during which he was initiated into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Society. Due to his exemplary commitment to medical education and patient care, he was selected by his peers as chief resident. He continued his medical training in New York City, completing his general cardiology fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital, and then a bustling interventional cardiology fellowship at the Northshore / Long Island Jewish Hospitals — one of the highest volume programs in the country. His love of New Orleans brought him back to the city.

Dr. Tunovic brings with him a wealth of knowledge including expertise in cardiac noninvasive imaging and minimally invasive procedures to treat, heart failure, artery blockages, blood clots, and heart attacks. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Coronary CT, and Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Tunovic prides himself in being a holistic physician and uses his strong internal medicine background to assist his patients in making medical decisions to optimize their care.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys watching sports (Go Saints!), exercising, reading and spending time with his wife and his 70 lb. goldendoodle dog, Penny.
