Steven Young, MD, practices hepatology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Young has expertise in treating all forms of liver disease and in performing gastroenterology procedures including EGD and colonoscopy. He is able to offer comprehensive care for all aspects of general and transplant hepatology.

Dr. Young earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and his medical degree from LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana. Following this, he completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He then completed his fellowships in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at UAB. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Young actively participates in the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases to stay updated on medical advancements. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2020.

Dr. Young is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of his patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. Being diagnosed with liver disease is often frightening. He strives to help educate patients and listen to their concerns so that they can work together to formulate a treatment plan. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. They especially love hiking, cheering on the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints, and attending the many festivals that New Orleans offers.
