Dr. Susan Karam practices endocrinology at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. She attended medical school at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed her fellowship in endocrinology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She then returned home to Louisiana to join the endocrine department at Ochsner Medical Center. Dr. Karam is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and internal medicine, and she has an interest in the management of diabetes. She oversees an insulin pump clinic which provides dedicated care to patients using insulin pumps. She also serves as the chair of the glycemic management committee which works to improve care for hospitalized patients with diabetes and hyperglycemia at Ochsner Medical Center and across the system.
