William H. Baird, MD is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Ochsner Health in Prairieville, Louisiana. Dr. Baird provides the full scope of primary care, managing conditions such as coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and musculoskeletal concerns, as well as preventive care and routine health maintenance.

Dr. Baird is known for a practical, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach, working closely with patients to develop care plans that are not only effective, but realistic and sustainable. He provides comprehensive primary care with a focus on building lasting relationships and helping patients navigate their health over time.

Dr. Baird earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. A Baton Rouge native, he has been caring for patients in Prairieville since 2002, bringing more than 20 years of experience to his practice.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Baird serves as Associate Regional Medical Director for the Baton Rouge and Lake Charles region, where he supports physician teams and helps improve access to care and the overall patient experience across multiple sites.

As a native of Baton Rouge, Dr. Baird values the opportunity to care for patients in the same community he calls home. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time on the water with friends and family and traveling to SEC football games.
