Ochsner Health Center – Abita Springs, founded in 2002, is proud to offer top-quality primary care for people at all life stages. We also provide some lab services. We're located in the charming town of Abita Springs, our center feels like a small doctor's office but benefits from the support, resources and excellent reputation of Ochsner Health.

We are making healthcare easy. One huge advantage of having a primary care doctor at Ochsner is our electronic medical record. Wherever you go in the Ochsner network, your medical history goes with you and is accessible by specialists, urgent cares and ERs all across the Gulf South.
We are also making it easier to connect you to your doctor at any time with MyOchsner. You can call or message your doctor, schedule appointments, submit refill requests for medication and schedule preventive health reminders to help you stay on track. MyOchsner also allows you to view your results and connect your family to your records and treatment team.

Schedule an appointment
To schedule an appointment, call 985-892-0879. You may also schedule an appointment through MyOchsner.
We offer same-day and next-day appointments. We also offer virtual visits. If you are a new patient, your first virtual appointment is at the discretion of the provider. Learn more about virtual visits, here.
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please make every effort to notify us within a 24-hour advanced notice. If your doctor is unavailable for an urgent problem, please consider allowing Ochsner to book an appointment for you with another provider.
Lab results
You'll get your lab results in the mail. If everything is normal, you should have them within 10 business days. If there's anything unusual, your doctor's office will call you once they get the results. For pap smear results, please wait about four to six weeks.
Prescription refills
If you need a prescription refill, please call your pharmacy to request it. If your pharmacist has any questions, they will contact Ochsner. Make sure the pharmacy sends your refill request to Ochsner at least three to five working days before you run out of your medication. If we don't get the notice in time, we can't promise your refill will be ready before you use up your current supply.
Ochsner On Call
Unless otherwise directed by your doctor or provider, please call Ochsner On Call, our 24/7 nurse care advice line at 1-800-231-5257, for guidance regarding your symptoms. For emergencies, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
Registered nurses at the Ochsner On Call Center can help determine how soon you should be seen and recommend the best care options for your symptoms.

The nurse and the doctor were both awesome! Four stars because the waiting room was very crowded, its small to begin with, and there was a bit of a wait. However, I really liked the two nurses and the doctor. They showed me respect and told me everything I should expect and allow me to make my medical decisions.

I was nervous about my procedure. Nurse Laura Baquie put me completely at ease explaining the procedure step by step. She was very friendly, personable and thorough. I did have to wait a bit for Dr Knoepp to arrive but once there she was very thorough and professional. Overall I was very satisfied with the visit.
