Ochsner Children's Health Center – Destrehan is located in the St. Charles Parish Hospital Medical Office building and provides general pediatric care of the highest quality from birth through 18 years. Our team of pediatricians and staff work hard to keep our youngest patients healthy and happy.

We are also making it easier to connect you to your doctor at any time with MyOchsner. You can call or message your doctor, schedule appointments, submit refill requests for medication and schedule preventive health reminders to help you stay on track. MyOchsner also allows you to view your results and connect your family to your records and treatment team.

Schedule an appointment

To schedule an appointment, call 985-764-6036. Appointments are available Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Urgent Care appointments are available Saturday from 8 a.m. - noon. You may also schedule an appointment through MyOchsner.

We offer same-day and next-day appointments. We also offer virtual visits. If you are a new patient, your first virtual appointment is at the discretion of the provider. Learn more about virtual visits, here.

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please make every effort to notify us within a 24-hour advanced notice. If your doctor is unavailable for an urgent problem, please consider allowing Ochsner to book an appointment for you with another provider.

Lab results

You'll get your lab results in the mail. If everything is normal, you should have them within 10 business days. If there's anything unusual, your doctor's office will call you once they get the results.

Prescription refills

If you need a prescription refill, please call your pharmacy to request it. If your pharmacist has any questions, they will contact Ochsner. Make sure the pharmacy sends your refill request to Ochsner at least three to five working days before you run out of your medication. If we don't get the notice in time, we can't promise your refill will be ready before you use up your current supply.

Ochsner On Call

Unless otherwise directed by your provider, please contact Ochsner On Call, our 24/7 nurse care advice line, for help receiving care and guidance for your symptoms. For emergencies, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.

Registered nurses at the Ochsner On Call Center can help determine how soon you should be seen and recommend the best care options for your symptoms.
