Meet Our Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Team
Dr. Joseph Lupo began his practice at Ochsner Lafayette General in 2014. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in biological science from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Dr. Lupo completed a General Surgery residency at Dartmouth Medical School and a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Tulane Medical Center. He is also certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Bennett Fontenot earned his Doctor of Medicine at the LSU School of Medicine after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from LSU in Baton Rouge. He completed a General Surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and a Plastic and Reconstructive fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston. While there, he rotated at the MD Anderson Cancer Center where he was trained in DIEP flap microsurgical breast reconstruction. He is also certified by the American Board of General Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association.
