We have a robust Pediatric Heart Transplant program with utilization of mechanical support such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) or ventricular assist devices (VAD). Ochsner Hospital for Children’s Congenital Heart Team provides comprehensive surgical care - performing over 200 cases per year - as well as a wide range of cardiac conditions including arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy and heart failure, heart transplants and infections of the heart.
Every patient has a private room, which is acuity adaptable to meet the patient’s needs. All rooms are equipped with a Family Zone, which provides a comfortable space for parents and caregivers. At Ochsner Hospital for Children, we believe in family-centered care, allowing parents to be actively involved and fully understand their child’s treatment plan of care during their hospitalization.
