Milk Depot at Ochsner Medical Center - Baton Rouge

If a mom is interested in donating human milk, below are the steps in becoming a donor.

1. Call us at 504-703-6455 for a brief 15-minute interview.
2. Complete and return an information packet.
3. Participate in a blood screening (the cost is covered by the MMBL).
4. Once approved, you’ll receive instructions for donating.
5. Once screening is complete, donors will receive an ID number and will be able to conveniently drop off milk donations at the Milk Depot at Ochsner Medical Center - Baton Rouge.
6. All milk needs to be clearly labeled with the dates and times pumped. Frozen milk containers grouped into grocery bags should have an identification card in the bag. We have identification cards available at the depot or you can print at home using this file: Donor Identification Cards.
