Dr. Gerald Dodd Denton received his doctor of medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his internal medicine residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and earned a master's degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University in 2000. He practiced general internal medicine in the US Navy for 22 years prior to joining Ochsner Health. Dr. Denton is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He had a long career as a medical educator while in the Navy, and he now serves as the deputy head of school for students at the University of Queensland Ochsner Clinical School.
