Joe Impastato, III, PA-C, is a board-certified physician associate specializing in surgical plastic and reconstructive surgery at Ochsner Health. A native of New Orleans, Joe graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a degree in biological sciences in 2007. Since then, his life has been dedicated to biology, the human body and medicine.

Joe started at Ochsner Health as a physician associate in 2013, and he joined the Ochsner Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department in 2026. Prior to this role, he gained valuable experience working as a physician associate in the Ochsner Emergency Department for three years and at the Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Institute for 10 years under fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Misty Suri, MD. Joe attributes his surgical expertise to the many years he worked with Dr. Suri.

His diverse background also includes decades of patient care at various levels, a decade of in-depth surgical experience, as well as experience in medical sales and local community pharmacies. This broad experience has deepened his understanding of multiple facets of medicine and enhanced his ability to improve patient care.
