Pavana Sakhamuri, MD, specializes in rheumatology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Sakhamuri is board-certified in internal medicine and board-eligible in rheumatology. She earned her medical degree from Guntur Medical College, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, in India. She completed her internal medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Lafayette, Louisiana, followed by a rheumatology fellowship at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Dr. Sakhamuri specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, myositis, scleroderma, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, sarcoidosis and autoinflammatory syndromes. Dr. Sakhamuri is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and the Medical Council of India.

She and her husband, also a physician, are raising two daughters and remain dedicated to the health and well-being of the region.
