Owned by St. Bernard Parish government, St. Bernard Parish Hospital offers comprehensive outpatient care and accepts medical orders from all healthcare providers. Outpatient services, including imaging, X-ray, cardiopulmonary services and lab are convenient and easily accessible with little or no waiting time with an appointment. The Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, conveniently located on the first floor of the medical office building, offers physical, speech and occupational therapies for adults and children. Our rehab center is the only one in the area that offers all three rehabilitation services under one roof.
Inpatient care is comfortable with 40 all-private spacious rooms that accommodate visits by family and friends. Our surgical suites have everything that a physician needs in medical staffing and technology, including the Da Vinci robotic surgical system used for minimally invasive surgery. In addition, our hospital has a well-equipped intensive care unit (ICU) and a 24/7 emergency department with physicians certified in emergency care.
St. Bernard Parish Hospital has over 100 credentialed physicians and many physicians have offices conveniently located in the medical office building next to the hospital. The medical office building also includes administrative offices.
Our hospital has national certification by The Joint Commission, which ensures that we meet the highest standards in the healthcare industry. Information
Our St. Bernard Parish Hospital has an operator on staff Monday–Friday 6 a.m.–7 p.m. that answers the phone for the main line, 504-826-9500. After 7 p.m., our security team and house supervisors answer this number. A greeter is available Monday–Friday from 7 a.m.–5 p.m. to assist in the hospital outpatient area. Medical Records
Your record is always available to you to view, download and share in your MyOchsner patient portal account. To obtain copies of the medical record outside of MyOchsner, the patient's written authorization must be signed and dated and must include the name and address of the individual who is to receive the copies of the record, the information requested and the treatment dates. Obtain your release of information form.
Language Services
Language services are available to patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-833-896-6586. Additionally, your care team may request in-person or virtual interpreter support during a visit for both limited English proficiency and deaf/hard of hearing patients.
Patient & Provider Advocacy
The Patient and Provider Advocacy department serves as a mediator for patients on issues like advance directives, HIPAA and requests (appointments, medication refills, etc.). Patient and Provider Advocacy also supports Ochsner’s compliance with Patient Rights & Responsibilities, provides policy interpretation and advice on institutional practices.
