Owned by St. Bernard Parish government, St. Bernard Parish Hospital offers comprehensive outpatient care and accepts medical orders from all healthcare providers. Outpatient services, including imaging, X-ray, endoscopy, cardiopulmonary services and lab are convenient and easily accessible with little or no waiting time with an appointment. The Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, conveniently located on the first floor of the medical office building, offers physical, speech and occupational therapies for adults and children. Our rehab center is the only one in the area that offers all three rehabilitation services under one roof.
Inpatient care is comfortable with 40 all-private spacious rooms that accommodate visits by family and friends. Our surgical suites have everything that a physician needs in medical staffing and technology. In addition, our hospital has a well-equipped intensive care unit (ICU) and a 24/7 emergency department with physicians certified in emergency care.
St. Bernard Parish Hospital has over 100 credentialed physicians and many physicians have offices conveniently located in the medical office building next to the hospital. The medical office building also includes administrative offices.
Our hospital has national certification by The Joint Commission, which ensures that we meet the highest standards in the healthcare industry. We are also proud of our partnerships with LSU Medical Schools, Delgado and Nunez Community Colleges, Xavier University, University of Holy Cross, Baylor University, Bowling Green University and Chamberlain University.

Information
Our St. Bernard Parish Hospital has an operator on staff Monday- Friday 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. that answers the phone for the main line, 504-826-9500. After 7 p.m., our security team and house supervisors answer this number. A greeter is available Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. to assist in the hospital outpatient area. To be connected to any department or to get information on specific visiting hours before you arrive, please call 504-826-9500.
Medical Records
Your record is always available to you to view, download and share in your MyOchsner patient portal account. To obtain copies of the medical record outside of MyOchsner, the patient's written authorization must be signed and dated and must include the name and address of the individual who is to receive the copies of the record, the information requested and the treatment dates. Obtain your release of information form here.
Our medical records office is also located on the first floor and staff are available to assist with any medical record needs.
Language Services
Language services are available to patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-833-896-6586. Additionally, your care team may request in-person or virtual interpreter support during a visit for both limited English proficiency and deaf/hard of hearing patients.
Patient & Provider Advocacy
The Patient and Provider Advocacy department serves as a mediator for patients on issues like advance directives, HIPAA and requests (appointments, medication refills, etc.). Patient and Provider Advocacy also supports Ochsner’s compliance with Patient Rights & Responsibilities, provides policy interpretation and advice on institutional practices. To reach our advocates at any location, please call 1-844-959-HEAR (4327) or email PatientAdvocate@ochsner.org.

We offer on-site dining options, whether you need a quick snack, a cup of coffee, or something a bit more filling.
St. Bernard Parish Hospital Cafe'
Located on the first floor of the hospital, our cafeteria is open:
- Breakfast: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m.-10 a.m.
- Lunch: Monday - Friday, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Vending Machines
The vending machines room is located on the first floor of the hospital lobby outside the café and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Wi-Fi
St. Bernard Parish Hospital offers free Wi-Fi for patients, families and visitors. Please look for the "OHN Guest Wi-Fi" when on site.
Chapel
Our chapel is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is located on the second floor of the hospital.
Visually impaired services
All elevators and many other public areas have braille signage to assist those with visual impairments. We can also provide visitors with an audio recording of patient rights and responsibilities, advanced directives and the Ochsner mission statement.

Great experience in the lab coming in for blood work. Easy check in and registration. No wait time. Eduardo, my phlebotomist, was amazing and took great care of me. I didn’t even feel the stick! 🤣 My treatment here is always topnotch. That’s why I drive in from New Orleans!!!

I was here for bloodwork and the phlebotomist was Altrice. She’s very sweet and polite and I didn’t even feel the needle ! She did a great job. The registration process is very simple at the hospital since they updated it. Gets patients in faster for appointments

I have been living in St Bernard a very long time. I can go back as far as the 1960’s. The original hospital was next to the Chalmette courthouse. It was not much, and not very big, provided basic Services until they could move you somewhere else. St Bernard is growing again and the need was there for a new hospital. Unfortunately I have used it twice. Both times I was given excellent treatment. One was staying over a few days and had a single room for myself. When comparing to New Orleans, Jefferson, and others I am positive St Bernard Hospital is the best. I had a compound fracture on my right leg and was taken to lmc without given a choice. It was terrible and really poor attention. Do not go there.
