Mariana Zapata, MD, practices transplant hepatology and gastroenterology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Zapata specializes in evaluating and treating a broad range of liver diseases, including pre- and post- liver transplant medicine.

Dr. Zapata earned her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in 2017. She completed an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, in 2020. After residency, she completed both gastroenterology and transplant hepatology fellowships at UT Southwestern/Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, in 2023. Dr. Zapata is an active member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease to stay updated on medical advancements.

Dr. Zapata is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of her patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. She has been practicing at Ochsner since 2023.
