As much as anyone hates the need to go to the ER…I would recommend Ochsner O’Neal. It’s close to home, they communicate and operate as a well oiled machine. If something is taking too long they explain and give you updates. Great, friendly staff that makes it a fearless visit to be taken care of and sent off with a relief of mind.

The medical staff treated me well & did a great job under the circumstances. My only complaint was the female African American security guard that refused to ask someone in the waiting area to turn her phone down. A hospital is supposed to be quiet & this woman getting fluids sat in the waiting room without a headset listening to her phone without regard for anyone else. I was in pain so I chose a seat in a side hall by myself before she got there. I was the one told I could move. There should be some kind of ordinance or consideration for others while in an ER waiting room. The guard should have maintained a quiet environment for others requiring a headset or asking the other person to turn her phone down she was disturbing others. The guard failed to do her job.

The nurses in surgery recovery were awesome. They literally saved my life when I had a artery bleed through 3 different times following a simple Stent procedure. They stayed with me and gave me the assurances I needed that I was going to make it through the ordeal. These nurses are truly working right along with our Angels. 😇 Thank you Oschner's!

I had a "slip and fall" and was in PAIN. Having experienced the emergency rooms at 2 other hospitals in Baton Rouge, horrible memories of treatment and care, I knew I had to go somewhere else. Ochsner was fantastic, which is what you need when you are in pain. Everyone showed concern and didn't try to rush me so my pain was not aggravated. Hope I don't need an emergency room again, but if I do, I'll return to Ochsner Medical.

I really don't know where to begin. But they saved my life. Something was wrong with me but I didn't know what. I had just had surgery 3 weeks ago (not at Ochsner) and my symptoms of shoulder pain for 3 days began to escalate to difficulty breathing very quickly. No other symptoms. My doctor seemed confused so I left his office and went to Ochsner. I passed 3 hospitals from hammond and drove straight to this hospital but I don't know why. Within an hour, these people saved my life after diagnosing me with pulmonary emboli (several) in both lungs. ER staff was fast even though the ER was full they did the best they could. They were so friendly and helpful I immediately felt comfortable. My nurses Erica (ER) Chris, Sarah (tele) were impeccable. In CT this older guy with glasses and grey hair I dont know his name but he could tell I was afraid and he joked with me and gave me a warm blanket just to make me relax- THANK YOU I was terrified 😨 The Ladies who performed the echo... my night time pct who would so gently come into my room at night and with the sweetest voice wake me up and every single time she would ask if I needed anything. Dr Brooks was amazing. Everytime I talked to him he listened INTENTLY without interrupting me. Dr Kolla was also amazing explaining in detail and giving options. If she ever opens a private practice I would be first in line to chose her as my doctor. This staff here is amazing. I travel and work at different hospitals...its rare to see this. They listen! They make eye contact and let you know they hear what you are saying. Everyone from the ER, to people I passed in the hallway who would flash a reassuring smile, the doctors, the dietary staff(sweet black lady who wears her saints hat every day), housekeeping(priscilla & joy). It may sound odd, but not one person was anything less than amazing. They laughed and talked to me and my husband as if we have known each other for years. And Terry VP of something but i cant remember- she came into my room like sunshine and said something that lifted me up and I'm forever grateful. I thank all of you from the bottom of my soul. I recently has a procedure that required me to be hospitalized for 3 days. I can not say enough about the staff that treated me. Everyone was so nice and attentive to my needs. They kept me in good spirts while administering world class health care. I wish I could give every single one of the ladies and gentlemen a gift that made my stay such a joy. Ochsner -ER Plaquemine. I was a first timer there and the quality of care was excellent the nurses were competent, respectful and professional. I couldn’t have asked for better care.
