Chemotherapy Care Companion is a program that monitors patients in chemotherapy or immunotherapy by tracking vital signs throughout treatment. This helps identify issues that may be related to or worsened by therapy.

Patients who are planning to start or are currently receiving an IV treatment plan and who have a smartphone are eligible for the program.

Upon enrollment, you will receive a digital thermometer, digital scale and digital blood pressure monitor from the O Bar. These devices are provided at no cost to you, thanks to philanthropy funds.

Once enrolled and set up, you will be assigned a series of daily tasks, including:

  • Completing a questionnaire
  • Logging your weight
  • Logging your temperature
  • Recording blood pressure and heart rate readings in the morning and evening

Your vital signs will be compared to preset data ranges. If any readings fall outside of those ranges, alerts will be sent to your care team. These alerts may indicate early signs of side effects that require medical attention.

In-person appointments are scheduled with your comfort and convenience in mind. When you are not feeling well, our team will work around your needs. We maintain compatible office hours to make it easier for you to see more than one doctor on the same day.
