Please plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. For urgent needs, if your doctor is unavailable, Ochsner will assist in scheduling an appointment with another provider to ensure timely care.

As part of Ochsner Lafayette General’s nationally recognized Stroke Center of Excellence, our inpatient stroke rehabilitation facility stands as the only program in Acadiana to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval®. We are also one of just three certified specialty stroke programs in Louisiana, proudly serving patients across southwest and south-central Louisiana with expert, evidence-based care.

Our team of stroke rehabilitation experts, including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and recreational therapists, supports patients at every stage of recovery — from diagnosis to discharge and beyond. We are dedicated to helping patients regain their independence and achieve the best possible outcomes after ischemic, hemorrhagic or transient ischemic strokes.

The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval Logo

General visiting hours at the hospital are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nighttime visiting hours are from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Overnight stays are limited to one visitor per patient, and the visitor must be 18 or older. Children under 12 may visit patient rooms if accompanied by an adult. We ask that supervising adults ensure visiting children are respectful and do not disturb other patients. No more than two visitors are allowed in a patient’s room at one time.

Visiting hours for the rehabilitation unit are Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. One overnight visitor is allowed per patient on Friday and Saturday nights. Overnight visitors are not permitted Sunday through Thursday. For more information, call 337-981-2949, ext. 6752.

If you need a prescription refill, contact your pharmacy to request it. If the pharmacist has any questions, they will reach out to Ochsner. Please ensure the pharmacy sends the refill request to Ochsner at least three to five business days before your medication runs out. If we do not receive the request in time, we cannot guarantee your refill will be ready before your current supply is depleted.

The café at Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital provides visitors with a variety of meal options. Choose from our hot line, deli bar and fresh pizza. We also offer grab-and-go items like salads, parfaits, specialty sandwiches and other delicious selections.

The café is open Monday through Friday and is closed on weekends and major holidays.
