Cardiology
Our 5,000-square-foot cardiology department offers the only cardiac catheterization lab facility between Lake Charles and Lafayette. We provide a modernized facility to local patients who would otherwise be forced to travel 45 minutes or more to receive cardiac care, testing and treatment. Our cardiology department is equipped to provide diagnostic coronary angiography, nuclear stress testing and echocardiograms.
Contact our cardiac catheterization lab at 337-616-7360.
Our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation facility is equipped for patients who have experienced an MI, coronary artery bypass grafting, stable angina, PTCA/stent, valve replacement, heart transplants and COPD. The physician-supervised program utilizes state-of-the-art telemetry monitoring to help patients grow stronger and to assist with lifestyle modification in order to facilitate the most successful recovery.
Radiology
We offer a full-range of radiology services including
- 64-slice CT
- mammograms
- ultrasounds
- MRIs
- nuclear medicine
This department is equipped with updated, modernized imaging machines, including two GE Logic-7 ultrasound machines, a new Phillips Bright View Nuclear Camera, a Radrex-I Dual Detector Digital Radiography System and two PACS systems. And for surgeries, we utilize a OEC c-arm 9600 with the goal of reducing pain and recovery time for our patients.
We're the only hospital in southwest Louisiana with breast-specific gamma imaging, one of the most advanced diagnostic tools for mammography. Through multiple clinical studies, this type of imaging has demonstrated a high sensitivity for identifying earlier stage cancers as small as 3mm and has consistently provided a specificity of 92% - significantly helping to differentiate between benign and malignant lesions.
Respiratory
The respiratory department is now able to complete Pulmonary Function Tests, saving patients the inconvenience of travelling out of town for this service.
Pulmonary function tests are a group of tests that measure how well a patient's lungs work, including how well they actually breathe and how effectively oxygen is transported to vital parts of the body. These tests are usually ordered if you are having symptoms of lung problems, as part of a routing physical or to assess how well your lungs are functioning before undergoing surgery.
