Kamran Shahid, MD

Dr. Shahid received his undergraduate and medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. Following this, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (Shreveport). He also completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the same location.

Dr. Shahid joined Ochsner in July 2020; he has been practicing medicine since 2016. Dr. Shahid came to Ochsner from the University of Texas Health North Campus Tyler - MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he was an assistant professor of hematology and oncology, an Oncology Survivorship Champion Physician representing medical oncology and a principal investigator for a wide variety of research trials. He has a special interest in treating solid tumors and hematological malignancies.

Dr. Shahid spoke to me & my family at length on each visit about my medical issues. He explained the treatment plan as well as fielded all questions by me & my family.

He explained everything to me and gave me the choice to make my on decisions about his suggestions for my care. I was very pleased with my visit.

He is a good doctor. Only issue is va covers my bill . But they keep on sending me one . 🙄

Wonderful doctor and staff beautiful office nice and clean and I love to come to my visits to see and experience their caring professionalism in regards to my health! You are treated as a person not a number and they pray for you too!!! I know this is the place God has called me to go to and I am praying Oschner’s in Lake Charles will in the near future have their own stem cell transplant center so patients won’t have to leave home and speed up recovery time!

I was a patient of Dr. Shahid's when he was at UT Health Northeast, in Tyler, TX. All I can say is this man saved my life. I am eternally grateful and very much appreciate everything he did for me. I would see him for follow up care if he was not so far from where I live now.
