Biography
Dr. Eboni Price-Haywood practices internal medicine at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. Dr. Price-Haywood received her Doctor of Medicine degree and Master of Public Health from John Hopkins University School of Medicine and School of Public Health in Baltimore. She obtained her Master of Medical Management from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She has maintained board certification in Internal Medicine since 2002. She is the system medical director for the Healthy State initiative and the Ochsner Xavier Institute for Health Equity and Research (OXIHER). Dr. Price-Haywood is leading efforts to better understand and address health inequity in Louisiana. In partnership with Xavier University of Louisiana, OXIHER uses outcomes research, population health, workforce development and health equity education initiatives, community engagement and health advocacy to investigate and create solutions for the challenges we face today. As the associate dean for health equity and public health for the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine, she is responsible for leadership in advancing health equity and public health initiatives within the medical school and surrounding communities and create better health outcomes by integrating public health principles into education, research, and clinical practice. Dr. Price-Haywood has spent her career as a primary care physician, focusing on disease prevention, health promotion and care delivery improvements, with a particular focus on addressing health disparities and advancing health equity. She most recently served as director of the Center for Outcomes and Health Service Research here at Ochsner and was fundamental in COVID-19 research and studies which enabled the research team to shine a light on health disparities in our communities. Dr. Price Haywood is a member of the American College of Physicians and Society of General Internal Medicine. She is also a member of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute Board of Governors. She serves as a physician representative on the Ochsner Health Board of Directors.
