Dr. Krishna Nagendran joined Cardiovascular Institute of the South in 2014 as an interventional cardiologist. -Dr. Nagendran earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Sri Ramachandra Medical College in India. He completed his internal medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his general cardiology fellowship, heart failure/transplant fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was also named chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Nagendran has also received many awards, including the New York Methodist Administrative Award and the Best Teaching Resident Award. -Dr. Nagendran is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is also trained in heart failure and performs transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedures at Lafayette General Medical Center. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
