Jeniffer Ortiz, MD

Jeniffer Ortiz, MD, is a pediatrician at Ochsner Baton Rouge. Dr. Ortiz earned her medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She graduated from the pediatric residency program at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, in July of 2023.Dr. Ortiz is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics. She is certified in Basic Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and International Trauma Life Support.Her areas of focus while at The Brooklyn Hospital Center were prenatal counseling to improve breastfeeding, obesity and food diary assessments and improving continuity of care for newborns. She served on the House Staff Committee during her time in Brooklyn with an emphasis on facilitating improvement in patient career along with serving as the wellness coordinator for her residency program.While in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Ortiz organized and presented on various health topics that included maternal fetal complications in pregnancy, common pediatric conditions and vaccination importance. Her interests included cooking, dancing bachata, hiking, camping and gardening. Dr. Ortiz is fluent is Spanish.
